Membership Sites And Joint Ventures - How To Create And Promote Them
By: Matt Bacak

There are two questions on tap today. First, ll talk about how you can promote membership websites including a controversial method. Then we'll talk about how you can create a joint venture business from the ground up.

Question #1: What is the best way to promote a membership site besides affiliate referrals?

Answer: The best way to promote a membership site is to send emails to your own list. However, I'm not too big on promoting the membership site itself. A controversial strategy would be to use forced continuity. I use this method. Basically, when you have a product that you are selling you throw in your membership site with a trial that they then can cancel later on.

Question #2: How do I start a joint venture business if I don't have my own product? Can I use affiliate's products?

Answer: Yes, you can use affiliate products to start a joint venture business. You don't need your own product.

The first thing would to be to build your list. You have to continually build your list. Building your list is not the sexiest thing to talk about or do, but it is critical.

You can build your list by having a squeeze page. There is a big controversy on whether or not you should have video or audio on your squeeze page. I have been teaching to not have audio or video on your squeeze page. I tested three squeeze pages including a video squeeze page, an audio squeeze page, and a plain old squeeze page.

Which type of squeeze page do you think won the split test? The squeeze page that won by far was the plain old squeeze page.

In fact, here are the details of my squeeze page split testing:

I had 4,596 people go to the site of which 84 people signed up for my squeeze page with a video, 88 signed up for my squeeze page with audio, and 103 signed up for my plain old squeeze page. Of course the conversion numbers weren't as good as I wanted them to be, but for a split test the squeeze page that old pulled everything was the plain old squeeze page. So my teaching is correct!

An effective way to send traffic to your squeeze page is through paid traffic. If you have money to invest then invest it in paid traffic.

If you don't have any money then write articles to generate traffic. In these articles provide tips, strategies, and content useful to customers in your niche.
